This Brazilian Cocktail with fresh fruits and cachaça (see caçhaca) is a perfect drink for a summertime "festa". You can also use rum or vodka if you prefer. Batidas (pronounced: ‘BA-CHI-DA’) are in a way the Brazilian "grown up" milkshake, being an alcoholic drink blended with milk, fruits and in some versions, sweetened condensed milk " leite condensado". They are delicious and you can do all sorts of fruit combinations, although the most popular is made with passion fruit. I personally love the strawberries and coconut ones. MORE

	Hip Brazil Makes a Splash! Hip Brazil was one of the highlights of the Santa Barbara Solstice Parade. Forty samba dancers and many musicians took the streets with full choreography under the artistic direction of Vanessa Isaac and music direction of Chalo Eduardo ( with Santana and Sergio Mendes) and costumes designed by Julie Scalzo. The group were featured in the news and on first page of the Newspress. Audience, many came from out of town, were amazed by the beauty of the group. All part of the Parade celebrating Summer.
